EFAC - the European Factory Automation Committee - was founded on the 15 March 2000 in Zürich. It is the European information and communication platform for manufacturers of assembly and handling technology.

Members are trade associations of France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Switzerland. Trade associations of other European countries are expected to follow in the near future.

As a European sector committee representing the assembly and handling technology industry, the tasks of EFAC include:

  • Providing statistics and collecting market data on the assembly and handling technology industry in Europe
  • Organizing international business conferences
  • Representing the industry before the European institutions
  • Pursuing trade fair policy
  • Providing information on the industry

President of EFAC is Alessandro Torsoli, Managing Director, ABL AUTOMAZIONE S.p.A., Gussago, Italy.
Vice President of EFAC is Rolf Rihs, COO of Mikron Assembly Technology Division, Boudry, Switzerland.
