Leadership & Development

  • Mary joined the EFAC team in 2015 as the country director, after being involved as a board member since its founding. As Country Director, Mary stewards every aspect of the organization in Kenya. She is a learning development specialist and an expert in youth employability. Mary holds an MSC in Vocational Education from the Dresden University of Technology, certified in Entrepreneurial Leadership from African Leadership Academy, a Leadership & Management Postgraduate Diploma from the University of Oldenburg and in Academic Practice from York St. John University. She is a visionary and highly respected leader in Kenya’s education-to-employment sector.

  • Matt joined the EFAC team in 2022. Matt comes to EFAC with an 18-year career serving in nonprofit leadership positions, most recently as Associate Director of the University of New Hampshire’s Institute on Disability. Matt earned his MBA from the UNH Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics and furthered his training at Georgia State University’s AUCD Leadership Academy.

 

Program Team

  • Benson joined the EFAC team in 2017. Benson manages EFAC’s high school and post-secondary programs, as well as growing career development and employability programs for post-secondary scholars and alumni. He has broad experience with a range of business, non-profit and government organizations in Kenya, particularly those focused on internships and job placement for young people. Benson received a MBA in Strategic Management from the University of Nairobi and a BS in Education from Kenyatta University.

  • Delva joined EFAC In 2022. She brings organizational skills, relationship-building skills, analytical thinking, and communication skills from her prior work in banking. Delva graduated from Laikipia University with a BA in Economics and Sociology. She is passionate about fostering talent in order to promote entrepreneurship and employability.

  • Kayla joined the EFAC team in 2020. She brings a decade of nonprofit program management experience to EFAC. Beginning with a Fulbright Scholarship in Indonesia, she continued her career working at education and healthcare nonprofits based in the U.S. and in Africa in program development and management. Kayla holds a BA in Human Rights Studies & Anthropology from Trinity College and an MA in Human Rights Studies from Columbia University.

Operations Team

  • Sheila joined the EFAC team in 2009. An integral member of EFAC’s staff, Sheila is responsible for a broad range of operational duties, including database and technology management. She has over 20 years of experience both teaching and managing computer systems for schools and businesses. A graduate of Stanford University, Sheila has a MS in management information systems from the University of Virginia.

  • Jen joined the EFAC team in 2022. She brings 18 years of nonprofit communications and program development experience to EFAC. Beginning with supporting the launch of an international school in NYC, she continued her career working for education and arts organizations in communications and development. As a volunteer, consultant and employee, she has worked with dozens of local, national and international nonprofits. Jen holds a BA from Bard College and an MS in Strategic Communications from Syracuse University.

  • Eric joined the EFAC team in 2023. He brings 7 years of experience to EFAC, both in government and private sector roles within the B2C and B2B markets. Eric holds a BA in Journalism and Media Studies from University of Nairobi and a Business Certificate in Marketing Management from the European Business University - Luxembourg. He is a passionate storyteller, focused on public relations, content marketing and brand management, while enjoying event management, emceeing and writing screenplays in his personal time.

  • Kelvin joined the EFAC team in 2023 and serves as the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning and IT Support Officer. He brings 5 years of experience in data collection, data analytics, report writing and IT to EFAC. Kelvin holds a Bachelor Degree from Egerton University and a MSc from Heriot-Watt University, United Kingdom. As a Commonwealth Shared Scholarship alumni, Kelvin understands the importance of financial support in one's academic journey. He has a passion for sustainable development of communities, especially poverty reduction through education.

  • Susan joined the EFAC team in 2019. She earned her BS from the UNH Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics with a concentration in Accounting. She furthered her love for travel while studying Business Administration and Management at Regent's University London.
